A Friend

I once saw the formulas for love:

Friendship plus peace plus passion.

Different types of friendship, different levels

Experienced from childhood through to old age homes

When you meet that person you click with

An instant magical connection is made

Someone who understands you well

Who sees beauty through your broken windows

At times when a tear rolls down unnoticed

She takes your hand and gives it a gentle squeeze

Someone who sense your hardship

And her presence alone makes the burden lighter

She listens attentively when u pour out your heart

With a box of tissues and a box of chocolate

A friends who is closer than any family

Who knows u inside out, upside down

Day by day you spend with him

You are amazed at his kind, caring heart

An earthly angel you may describe him

For with his smile, you feel Heaven's touch

A word you utter she understands

Some kind of code she's learnt well

You ponder why you deserve such a friend

And your mind is blank without a reason

Happy are you if u have such a friend

For in this wicked world, there're but a few.

Dedicated to all the friends I have, few yet true indeed.

And to the even fewer friends I made during my 2010/2011 holiday.

Much love, Nissy Ade
